Had to repair the Ikea bed frame after one of the MDF boards cracked. *cough*Almost a year ago*cough* I bought three 2″x6″ for $9 and 8 lag bolts. Reused the legs and the rest of the hardware. To my surprise it came out nice. Might just clear coat the wood or maybe just leave it. [...]

Our old home in Beloit WI was built in 1900 and has had a few slight modifications to the layout. One that bothered me is one of the two doorways in our foyer was closed off. Not a big deal but it bugged me. It also made the foyer dark and confining, not very welcoming. [...]
